Abstract: Thermogravimetric techniques, mass spectrometry and elemental analysis studied the effect of addition of the catalyst and heating operation on thermal transformations of coal tar pitch. It is shown that the expanded graphite and iron salts accelerate the processes of condensation and aromatics pitch and increase the exit of the carbon material.
