Abstract: In the given work the possibility of application of methods of nonlinear dynamics for an estimation of a condition of processing system is considered: the choice of the characteristic by means of which it is supposed to estimate a condition of processing system is made and dependence of the chosen testimonial form of time is established. After the choosing of a characteristic by means of which the estimation of a condition of processing system is spent the expediency of its use by means of calculation of mutual correlation between the chosen characteristic and target parameter of process of processing (in our case of a roughness of the processed surface) is proved.
