Abstract: In the article one of the actual questions of designing of small opencasts is considered-the choice of equipment for development of soft roсks of Kuzbass coal deposits. Analysis of structures of development schemes of soft roсks by hydraulic excavators with up and down excavating is resulted. Reserve of productivity of return hydraulic shovel is considered.
