Abstract: Reverse hydraulic shovels at coal opencasts had no scientific recommendations for the effective use at present. In the article evaluation of the effect of different diagrams of the groove of species from the face on the duration of excavatory cycle is given. The diagrams of dipping are examined: from the lower edge of the slope of face with caving of upper part; by horizontal layers from top to bottom; by inclined layers.
