Abstract: The results of the analysis of one of the component of demographic process - death - in order to identify trends and its main causes are shown. Indicators analyzed in dynamics for 1989-2011 years on the example Kemerovo region are presented, and also in comparison with the data in the whole Russian Federation and Siberian Federal District. The basic trends and causes of mortality in the region are considered.
