Abstract: With the use of IR-, 13C NMR in the solid the sorption of zinc cations from aqueous solutions by humic acids was in-vestigated. The objects of study were selected native and modified humic acids extracted from brown coal of deposit Tisulsky (section Kaychaksky) and its naturally-oxidized form. It is shown that the sorption of zinc cations takes place by ion exchange mechanism. Modification of humic acids by hydrogen peroxide leads to increase in the content of oxygen-containing functional groups and their sorption capacity increases in 2-4 times.
Key words: humic acid modification adsorption ion exchange
