Abstract: The article highlights the issues of the impact of power consumers with a nonlinear current-voltage characteristic in the power quality. Revealed the negative effects of the presence of non-linear load in the electrical network and the effect of the higher harmonic components in the power quality parameters. The analysis of modern control methods parameters energy systems to reduce the effect of nonlinear load on power quality, and in particular to distortion voltage and current. Identify the most promising ways to improve power quality. The absence of techniques that determine the level of the harmonic components of voltage and current in the supply network. A mathematical model of the electrical network in the MATLAB software package for the study of the influence of non-linear loads on power quality in the supply lines.
