Abstract: The urgency of the discussed issue: Modifications bituminous knitting are entered into their structure polymers which allow to change one or several properties. At polymeric and bituminous PB (PBP) in comparison with usual bitumens the plasticity interval that allows to keep operational properties both at low, and at high temperatures is higher. Application of PBV provides increase in reserve maintenance periods of service of a covering of highways from 3–4 to 7–10 years that allows to pay back completely expenses for some years of operation. The main aim of the study: Definition of rational structure bituminous knitting modified by a rubber crumb. The methods used in the study: Modifying of bitumen began in the 60th years of last century. Today there is a set of modifiers of bitumen. For example it can be: styrene-butadiene-styrene, этиленвинилацетат, latex, polyolefin, sulfur, etc. One of the most effective modifiers is the rubber crumb and SBS. Research of improvement of physical and chemical properties can be determined by such methods as determination of temperature of a softening by a method a ring and a sphere (KISh), depth of penetration of a needle of a penetrometr, determination of temperature of fragility across Fraas, definition of tensile properties, and also a method of infrared spectroscopy. The results: Receiving modified bituminous knitting on the basis of a rubber crumb has appeal to application in road construction. As the cost of a rubber crumb isn't surpassed by the bitumen cost, and a share of softener not of a bike, the price of a ready-made product will be comparable to bitumen cost, at physical and chemical parameters of relatives to modified knitting on the basis of SBS.
