Abstract: In accordance with the order from November 19, 2013 №550 about the statement of federal norms and rules of industrial safety "Safety in Coal Mines" reviewed the openning and development of priority section of Uvalnoe deposit for mining by underground methods in Tersinskom geological and economic region. According to referred rules, opening and development of coal seams that are prone to self-ignition, carried out by rock workings. On the basis of generalization the experience of mining coal seams prone to to self-ignition, and using typical schemes of opening, development and mining of coal seams for mines Russia and graphic method - substantiated rational parameters of the mining of Uvalnyiy 1-4 section of Tersinsky region, the order of working off of seams is defined, recoverable reserves is calculated. Analysis of the domestic market of mining equipment has allowed to choose technique for working and development faces in specific geological conditions of Uvalnoe deposit. Taking into account use highly productive the equipment and the chosen system of mining the productivity of working face is defined. Production will make 300 thousand t/month from a single longwall that corresponds to indicators of the world-class enterprises.
