Abstract: The complex researches of exploitation abilities of the grinding wheels with oriented abrasive grains are made. These polishing instruments have been produced by the Russian Federation patent №2369474, which is based on the electrostatic effect. The influence of the abrasive grain orientation on the productivity (cutting ability), grinding coefficient and effective power of cutting and surface roughness during round plunge grinding is established. It has been established that the management of the geometry of the abrasive grains through their purposeful orientation in grinding tools can significantly improve the efficiency of the grinding process. Increasing the front angles of abrasive grains due to their radial orientation in grinding wheels improves the tool cutting ability, reduces deformation of the processed material, as well as the strength and the temperature during grinding. Reduction of the front angles of the abrasive grains and tension value therein by tangential orientation in grinding wheels can significantly reduce the grinding surface roughness and reduce tool wear.
