Abstract: A technical device for tamping of blast holes with low-density composition is described. The results of the justification of device rational output are given. Experimental applying of this device with using of low-density composition for holes tamping were carried in the open pit "Mezhdurechye". Low-density composition is poured into the shell. Device output provides a stemming of the holes immediately after the loading of the explosive charge. This construction allows to qualitatively improve the effectiveness of the explosion products locking in the charging chamber, increase the exposure time of the detonation products to a bench, reduce dust emissions, improve the excavator’s output.
