Abstract: The article contains findings of experimental research of rock bump hazard forecast by using a drill cuttings method at Rubana Mine, JSC SUEK-Kuzbass. The obtained data have facilitated evaluation of geomechanical condition of the edge of the seam: to determine the maximum abutment pressure and distance to it. Theoretical values of abutment pressure parameters were compared with experimental data. Research findings can be used for adjusting theoretical models for calculation of geomechanical condition of gently dipping coal seams and evaluation of pillar stability.
