Abstract: This article is analysis of scientific and practical activities for creation of natural-scientific coal collections. There is explanations of theoretical bases of classification, which are connected with directions of interdisciplinary complex of modern knowledge about coal. Thematic and informative uniqueness, relevance, conceptual validity of making special coal collections at scientific-research, educational process are justified in the article.
