Abstract: The rational configuration of the power supply network in terms of operational efficiency can be obtained using computer-aided design algorithms that take into account the commensurability of the capacities of electric motors with the power of the power source, the considerable lengths of the cable sections and their parameters, and the effect of the motors on each other in different operating modes. The article takes into ac-count the parameters of the transformer in the model for studying the processes of energy conversion in the power supply network. On the basis of the fact that in most cases the electrical receivers are geographically located in the same direction with respect to the transformer, the transition to the backbone electric power distribution structure is justified and the mathematical expressions necessary for this transition are obtained. A software tool using a genetic algorithm has been developed to determine the rational configurations of the power supply network.
