Abstract: Every year the total of up to 20 million rubles is spent on overhauls of the sectional pumps of the main drainage of the underground kimberlite mines”Mir” and “Udachniy” with a significant proportion of funds spent for the acquisition of spare impellers. Due to the fact that the cost of one impeller of the sectional pump installed in the pump compartment of kimberlite underground mine «Mir» or «Udachniy» could amount to hundreds of thousands of rubles, and in AK «ALROSA» (JSC) the reduction of funds allocated for maintenance and repair of process and ancillary equipment goes on, the issue of a possible re-use of the impeller with increased flow channels becomes very urgent. In this respect, we ascertain that the research of influence of the state of flow channels of the impeller on the efficiency of the electropump unit is a current scientific and practical task. The study conducted by the author allowed the conclusion to be made that the impeller with flow channels enhanced by 10 % of the initial state, have practically no influence on the technical parameters of electric pump units of the main water drainage of underground kimberlite mines “Mir” and “Udachniy”. At the same time, 1/3 of these impellers had some residual deformation. Re-use of these impellers may lead to emergency situations.
