Abstract: Results of research of a household of an ethnic group of Turkic-speaking nomads of the developed Middle Ages living in the valley of an average current of the river Kasma are presented in the article. The complex analysis of archaeological and paleozoological materials obtained during excavations at an archaeological monument Toropovo-7 got t, and also the results of studying of the surrounding natural and ecological landscape of the place of residence of medieval nomads make the basis of this research. It is noted that having a combination of cultural traditions and the specific natural and landscape environment in the conditions of dense population of the district, in the household of nomads the process of adaptation to new conditions of accommodation and transformation of their economy take place. There are records of the nomads having a stationary type of dwelling – a semi-dugout is fixed, the mobile structure of herd with prevalence of horses and a small quantity of sheep and cattle is formed. It is assumed that there was primitive hoe farming. The low level of natural and resource provision in the territory allowed to conclude that hunting and collective activity was of auxiliary (irregular) nature. The article comes to a generalized conclusion that the settlers had an integrated cattle breeding and agricultural economy with an insignificant role of hunting and various crafts (weaving and spin-ning, pottery, bone carving and tanning, sewing).
