Abstract: The study reviews the basic stages of development of construction technology using binding agents, and, in particular, concrete the usage of which dates back to 3600 BC. The examples are given of the use of concrete in grandiose structures of antiquity, the invention of cement by stone mason Aspdinom in 1824 and its further improvement, as well as the invention of the first construction mechanisms- “concrete mixers” for the preparation of concrete mixtures. The information is given about the early use of concrete mixtures in the mining industry.
