Abstract: The urgency of improved methods of degassing during underground coal mining is justified. The basic problems of the use of degassing methane-air mixtures, which ensure the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and energy intensity of coal mining, are shown. Based on the analysis of degassing methods and tak-ing into account the trends in development of mining technologies, the methods were highlighted which are promising in terms of extraction of the standard mixtures providing the conditions for their efficient utilization.
