Abstract: The results of this work were obtained on the basis of the analysis of the parameters of mechanical oscillations generated during operation of power mechanical equipment of mining machines, the sampling amount for the study was more than 30 mining shovels and drilling rigs and more than 100 units of crushing and sorting, mining transport, and coal washing equipment, the period of observation was more than 10 years. The obtained data of the operational analysis allowed to develop a set of more than 120 diagnostic rules suitable for performing automated detection of main damages of the diagnosed equipment based on the analysis of selective groups of informative frequencies. The selection of the main criteria that could potentially be used as a basic platform for improving the methodology for the normalization of vibration parameters is substantiated. These criteria are taken as the basis for development of individual spectral masks of a high degree of detail, designed to normalize the parameters of vibroacoustic waves generated by the operation of energy – mechanical equipment of mining machines. The requirements for the organization of a comprehensive diagnostic approach for assessing the technical state of aggregates and mechanisms by vibration parameters are formulated. It is shown that only with a wide application of modern methods of vibration diagnostics and non-destructive testing is the opportunity to detect defects in mining equipment in time. The implementation of the principles of a comprehensive diagnostic approach made it possible to develop common diagnostic criteria for assessing the actual state of complex mechanical systems that can be used to implement a short-term prediction of the process of degradation of the actual state of the mechanisms. The results of adaptive short-term modeling can be used to calculate the residual life of units and aggregates of mining machines and be used as one of the basic elements of the maintenance system for its actual technical condition.
