Abstract: The solution of the problem of increasing the stability of dismantling chambers and safety pillars in particular, when the chamber is formed directly by the working face, is aimed at increasing the safety of mining operations. In addition, it allows us to shorten the time for installation and dismantling of equipment and, as a consequence, contributes to the increase in the volume of coal produced. The results of the studies carried out in the Tolmachevsky seam at the Polysaevskaya mine lead to the conclusion that the refined calculation of the load area of the main roof is the basis for determining the actual parameters of the abutment pressure in the area where the dismantling chamber is to be driven, which is the most important factor when assessing its stability during formation of the chamber by the working face.
Key words: dismantling chamber protective pillar design resistance factor of mutual influence pillar strength seam thickness mutual interference of mine developments factor of structural rock mass weakening depth of an arrangement of the chamber main and immediate roof caving increment weight of hanging consoles abutment pressure chamber formation rock compression strength coal strength in the solid stress area
