Abstract: The article examines the impact of the degree of ozonization of the waste mineral engine oil on the change of its chemical composition and flotation properties. The studied parameter is the concentration of ozone. Used motor oil of BelAZ dump trucks was used in the experiment. Changes in the composition of waste oils were fixed with an acid number of oils and the data of elemental analysis and IR spectroscopy. In the ozonated oil the content of aromatic CH-bonds decreases and the proportion of methyl and alicyclic fragments increases. The content of oxygen-containing groups increases: O-H of alcohols and phenols, C=O of lactones and anhydrides, C=O of aliphatic and aromatic acids, aromatic ketones, C-O of esters, furans and lactones, S=O of sulfoxides. The increase in the share of oxygen-containing groups in the composition of the oil contributes to the conversion of apolar compounds in heteropolar compounds in the composition of the oil. Ozonation of waste oils also contributes to the reduction of its viscosity due to precipitation of high-molecular resinous compounds. It helps to improve flotation properties in flotation of coal. The highest efficiency of flotation with the use of waste oils is shown at a depth of ozonation 11 g/kg.
