Abstract: The article substantiates the characteristic points of the knife executive body of the geohod. The urgency of the research is considered. Information is given on the peculiarities of the work of the executive bodies of the geohod. The method of calculation of the knife executive body of the geohod is described, in particular, the entire force of the blocked cutting by a single radial knife of the geohod is shown, and this force is also represented as the sum of three constituent forces. To establish the purpose and objectives of the study, it is justified to choose the force to overcome the soil resistance by the front face of the knife PCV, the proportional cross-sectional area of the slot in front of the front edge of the knife and depending on the angle and strength of the soil. The article determines the limits of the integration of the projection of the component of the soil resistance force into the cutting, depending on the width of the cut, on the axis of rotation of the geohod P0.CV and on the plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the RIO.CV. On the basis of the study, the tasks for further research have been determined.
