Abstract: This article analyses the reasons and sources of coal dust generation in mining process. High concentration impacts miners’ health and, in some cases, it becomes the reason of incidents. There are modern ways of coal dust suppression. The most important ways of reduction of dangerous dust concentrations are shown. This paper describes the importance of development of effective dust suppression systems. The article reviews special features of applying extraction of dusted air in the spots of dust generation; irrigation methods using different nozzles, and ventilation systems. It is necessary to develop effective systems for coal dust suppression, especially when applying technologies with roof coal drawing to the face conveyor.
