Abstract: The structural feature of coal is the presence of paramagnetic centers in them, which can be manifested both in the organic part of coal and in the products of thermal and oxidative destruction. The electron paramagnetic resonance method makes it possible to study the molecular structure of coal with respect to the nature of unpaired electrons and is used in the study of their structure and reactivity. The main characteristics of the EPR spectrometer are resolution and sensitivity. The article discusses the main factors affecting the intensity of the EPR signal and the resolution of the device (magnetic induction sweep, time constant, conversion times, modulation amplitude and microwave power). Methods on the choice of optimal parameters for recording the EPR spectra of coals are proposed.
Key words: electron paramagnetic resonance paramagnetic centers coal
