Abstract: The delay time length of downhole charges has a significant impact on the technological results of a mass explosion and the consequences of its seismic effect on protected objects. However, the relatively cheap and popular non-electric detonators have one significant drawback associated with the fact that the real delay time at firing pyrotechnic delay detonators sometimes differs significantly from the nominal value. JSC «NMZ «Iskra» has developed modern, so-called «hybrid» detonators with electronic delay, which, in accordance with the technical requirements, should increase the accuracy of firing. A comparative assessment of the characteristics of pyrotechnic and electronic detonators is very topical.
