Abstract: The research relevance of creation and testing of engineering incubators based on higher educational institutions is undeniable, since the labour market needs young highly qualified specialists adapted to the realities of existing enterprises. The purpose of this work is to search for new scientific approaches to solve existing problems at the mining enterprises. When realizing this goal, a second important problem, that is the development of new methods to involve students in production problems at the training stage, is solved.
The study was carried out using the methods of scientific and pedagogical approach: analysis of modern scientific literature on similar studies, analysis of the existing experience of interaction between universities and enterprises, conversations, generalization of research results.
The analysis of existing methods for involving students in existing problems of regional enterprises, as the way to search for scientific solutions of real problems of coal mining enterprises was done. Based on the results, it was proposed to create a collaboration of Kuzbass State Technical University and the Kuzbass company group Stroyservice, i.e. the ‘Inji’ engineering incubator. The purpose of the incubator is to maximize the quality of training graduates, familiarise them with production tasks and problems. This is achieved by participation of 4-year students in this project. Students receive individual assignments prepared by the enterprise, while they solve real production problems. At the very beginning of the 4th year training, the participants of the incubator take part in production processes of equipment maintenance, as well as research its problems and develop methods and means to solve them.
At the end, 3 works were admitted to be defended as the final qualification work at the enterprise; 2 works were defended excellently, and the authors of the best work were offered the employment at the enterprises of the Stroyservice group. The developmental works obtained as the result of the final qualification work preparation were implemented at the enterprise.
