Abstract: The regression model of the process of coal preparation from waste dumps of Donbas on a vibration pneumatic separator of the SVP-5.5×1 type has been developed and analyzed by the method of experimental design. The influence of five factors on the process has been investigated: specific air consumption; the range of vibrations of the separator deck; power loads; longitudinal and transverse angles of inclination of the separator deck. It was found that the most significant factor is “specific air consumption”, the least - the transverse angle of inclination of the deck. There is a clear extreme dependence of the efficiency of the separation process on all the studied parameters. This made it possible to solve the problem of optimizing the process of coal preparation from waste dumps on a vibrating pneumatic separator - the coordinates of the extremum-maximum of the objective function (separation efficiency according to Hanokoku-Luiken) in the factor space were determined. The conducted studies made it possible to assess the range of rational values of the operating parameters of the separation process. This, in turn, makes it possible to effectively use vibrating pneumatic separators in the practice of coal processing.
