Abstract: The current state of the issue of capturing and isolating carbon dioxide from the atmosphere by transporting it and placing it in geological formations to increase oil and gas recovery of oil and gas reservoirs is considered. It is proposed to use carbon dioxide to increase the gas recovery of methane-bearing coal seams in the Borisovskoye field, Saltymakovsky district, Kuzbass during their early degassing with subsequent utilization of the extracted coalbed methane. A numerical model was developed and investigated in the Comsol Multiphysics environment, which describes the stationary process of carbon dioxide sequestration.
Key words: reduction of greenhouse gas emissions capture and concentration of carbon dioxide coalbed methane geological formations coal seam degassing numerical modeling
