Abstract: The article summarizes the results of experimental and theoretical studies of thiosulfate-ammonia leaching of gold from an ore sample of the Tutli deposit with additives - sodium thiosulfate, sodium sulfite, sodium sulfate, ammonium sulfate, etc. To achieve the maximum gold recovery, the degree of gold dissolution at pH 10 ... 11, in the presence of air and in the absence of a reducing agent at 60 0C, has been proposed. In this case, the total extraction of metals is: gold – 80,0 % and silver – 25,3 %. Some new general ideas are outlined and demonstrated with practical examples brought to numbers. It is well known that the basis of natural sciences is observation and experiments, which give numerical results. The processing of these numbers leads to comprehension of the results of observations and experiments, which allows one to draw appropriate conclusions. But when constructing a theory of the phenomenon and calculating quantities that were not observed but derived by processing the experimental results, one has to use mathematical methods, in particular, various empirical dependencies. The article uses a universal least squares method to determine unknown parameters in multiple regression equations. The article can be useful for scientists and engineers involved in the application of mathematical methods in hydrometallurgy.
