Abstract: The article formulates the basic principles of controlling the seismic impact of the explosion of borehole charges during mass explosions at coal mines by choosing rational intervals of deceleration of the surface and borehole network. The analysis of the results of the calculation of the earthquake-hazardous distance according to the method used by production workers and a probabilistic model that takes into account the randomness of the triggering system retarders with pyrotechnic and electronic detonators, based on the normal law of the distribution of the response time of borehole and surface retarders, is presented. As an example, the forecast of the earthquake-hazardous distance is made when using pyrotechnic downhole moderators "ISKRA-S" and electronic moderators "ISKRA-T". It is shown that the use of electronic downhole decelerators "ISKRA-T" allows to reduce the number of charges that initiate in the deceleration interval of less than 20 ms, which allows to reduce the earthquake-hazardous distance when conducting.
