Abstract: For Kuzbass sections developing coal deposits with different formation conditions, the most cost-effective and environmentally acceptable procedure is the procedure with sequential development of deposits in two stages and internal dumps of overburden rocks. However, in the absence of conditions for the placement of overburden in the worked-out space of the section, in some cases it is possible to temporarily leave overburden rocks directly on the working side of the section. For example, when developing the Novosergeevskoye field of the Krasnobrodsky Coal Mine branch, it is necessary to abandon the longitudinal, with advanced development in depth, development of thick coal beds of the suite, since such development negatively affects the establishment of an effective mining regime. Application of longitudinal double-side deepening-continuous mining system is proposed in this section of deposit, where semi-rocky rocks in sides of section are excavated by excavators of straight mechanically shovel type with ledges equal to height of cut working horizons (16 m) along longitudinal deepening double-side mining system with external dumps of overburden rocks. Interplasties of rock with a thickness of 70-80 m located in the central part of the section are also worked out with straight furrows with the same bench height (16 m), but already using a longitudinal continuous development system. The absence of coal seams on the northeastern side of the section makes it possible to mine semi-rocky rocks with high (32 m) ledges, while part of the volume of overburden rocks is temporarily left on the working side of the section and will be worked out later, when mining begins the final stage of field operation. The economic efficiency of overburden mining in the Novosergeevskoye field area with temporary abandonment of part of the overburden volumes on the working northeastern side of the section was determined by comparing two options according to the criterion of overburden costs. In the first option, overburden rocks are fully mined and immediately transported to a permanent external dump, and in the second option, due to the use of such a technical solution as the development of semi-rocky overburden rocks with high (32 m) by ledges, it is possible to temporarily leave part of the volumes of overburden rocks on the working northeastern side of the section and classify them as mining at a later period and obtain a significant economic effect or reduce the total costs of 37.6%.
